About English Online Inc.

Live & Learn is a free online ESL program for newcomers living in Manitoba. It provides relevant information and orientation to ease newcomers’ settlement in Manitoba. Live & Learn offers flexible online learning options that take into account newcomers’ needs and preferences. Online classes are led by certified EAL/ESL Instructors and are held at flexible times. Registered learners can attend Coffee Chats, Multi-week sessions, Language Circles, and Drop-in Sessions. Through Live & Learn, newcomers learn about life in Manitoba and gain practical tips while improving their English language skills.

Upon proclamation, the IEA and Regulations came into force, as per section 54. Red River College Polytechnic

The Language Training Centre has innovative and accessible ESL programs including Intensive English, English for Specific Purposes, and Academic Language Preparation. Our Red River students have many goals for settlement, education/training, and employment. This full-time intensive English language program is for students fulfilling the language requirements for their chosen academic program at Red River College Polytechnic. Each ESL program is approximately 15 weeks long, with 22-24 hours of classes (including 2-10 hours of online learning) per week. The goal is language readiness for academic programs at college or university with listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, computer skills and online English language practice.

The language of instruction at The University of Winnipeg is English. University of Manitoba

All applicants are required to meet the University of Manitoba's approved English Proficiency Standards, either through an approved waiver or the successful completion of an approved English proficiency test. Test result requirements are: IAEP (Intensive Academic English Program)Level 5, IELTS 6.5, CAEL 60, TOEFL IBT 86, PTE 58, Cambridge C1 180 and C2 180.

The English Language Centre (ELC) provides courses, tests, accommodations and individual support to students whose first language is not English in order to support academic success and participation in the University of Manitoba community. The ESL program is called Intensive Academic English Program IAEP and prepares students for university by providing them with the academic language skills they need to succeed. The English Language Centre (ELC) also offers several Part-Time Academic English Courses (PTAEC) for current UM students and community members whose first language is not English and would like to improve their academic English.
