Halifax Regional Centre for Education

The Halifax Regional Centre for Education is the public school district responsible for 136 elementary, junior high, and high schools located in the Halifax Regional Municipality in Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Program provides overall English and French Second Language curriculum support ESL FSL to schools with attention paid to technology integration. There is a particular focus on literacy and mathematics implementation as an integral component of Planning for Improvement.

The Dalhousie Writing Centre offers free help and guidance when writing a paper or assignment. Mount Saint Vincent University

Approximately 5,000 women and men from more than 60 countries are enrolled in 35 undergraduate and 13 graduate programs. In 1925 MSVU started as the only independent women?s college in the British Commonwealth then changed in 1966 to a university. The International Education Centre (IEC) at MSVU offers personal, academic, cultural and immigration advising to international students in Canada, as well as any student or faculty wishing to study, research or conduct projects abroad. The IEC is also home to the University’s English for Academic Purposes programs. If an applicant’s first language is not English, official reports with acceptable scores from one of the following tests must be submitted. Test Scores for Admission to Full-time Studies at MSVU: IELTS 7.0 or above (no score below 6.5); CAEL 70 or above (no score below 70) ;TOEFL (iBT Test)93 or above (no score below 23) ; CanTest 5.0 (no score below 4.5); MELAB 85 or above.

Mount Saint Vincent University is committed to preparing our international English-as-an-additional-language students for the transition to the Canadian classroom. Taught by our highly experienced instructors, and designed in consultation with MSVU faculty, the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programs combine English language learning with the foundational skills necessary for academic success. Students who complete the EAP program will have direct access to MSVU undergraduate or graduate programs with no official test score.
