If you visit the area you can expect to visit picturesque Vineyards and wineries where you'll have the opportunity to taste a variety of wines any anything from reasing and Chardonnay to red wines and the famous ice wine.  I highly recommend taking a scenic drive out to the area or you can also book one of the many Wine Tours available most of the wineries offer tasting flights where you can choose three or four wines and sip them at your leisure.

Niagara Falls was first incorporated in 1904 and was organized into a new Region in 1970 and is now part of the Regional Municipality of Niagara.

Niagara Falls overlooks the 54 M (177 ft) high Horseshoe, or Canadian falls. In 1905 large-scale hydroelectric plants began operations. Sir Adam Beck No. 1 opened in 1921, has a production capacity of 498 MW and Sir Adam Beck No. 2 opened in 1954, has a production capacity of 1440 MW.

In 1885 the Ontario provincial government established the Niagara Parks Commission. The orderly, landscaped quality of Queen Victoria Park gradually extended steadily along the Niagara river to the south to Fort Erie by 1915 and north to Niagara on the lake by 1931.

The Niagara Region contains several attractions which include Queen Victoria Park, Table Rock Scenic Tunnels, Spanish Aero Car, the annual Winter Festival of Lights; the historical museum at Lundy's Lane, the Maid of the Mist, Marineland, Skylon Tower, Minolta Tower, IMAX Theatre, the Butterfly Conservatory, the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, Canada One Factory Outlets, Casino Niagara and Fallsview, the Clifton Hill Attractions and several world class golf courses.

The District School Board of Niagara is a school board in the public school system of Ontario, Canada, in the Regional Municipality of Niagara. Its head office is in St. Catharines. The DSBN operates schools in each of the twelve municipalities in the region.

The English as Second Language (ESL) program is a temporary support program for students in grades 1 to 8 whose first language is not English. Students in the ESL program are working towards the same Ontario curriculum expectations as other students. The ESL program helps students with vocabulary, and reading and writing strategies to help them in all subject areas. The ESL program is available at all DSBN elementary schools.

Universities

Brock University is a public research university in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. It is the only university in Canada in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, at the centre of Canada's Niagara Peninsula on the Niagara Escarpment. Brock offers the Intensive English Language Program (IELP). Students who meet undergraduate admission requirements but don’t meet Brock's English language proficiency requirements can apply to the IELP/undergraduate program. Students must submit an official English proficiency test score, such as TOEFL, IELTS, etc., with your application. Once at Brock, students will write the Brock CamLA placement test. Both tests will be reviewed and students will be placed in the IELP level that reflects the higher of the two test scores. Levels range from preparatory to advanced Level 5. Each level or term is 12 weeks long with 25 hours of instruction per week.

Niagara College’s intensive English for Academic Preparation (EAP) program offers five levels of English language skill development, welcoming beginners through advanced English proficiencies, and are each four months in duration. The most rigorous language program at Niagara College, EAP is designed for secondary school (high school) graduates and English as a Second language (ESL) learners as the program focuses on preparing you for English language post-secondary studies and career advancement. Applicants to this program should be in the process of completing, or have completed, their final year of secondary school. The Niagara College EAP program is designed to strengthen all areas of English Language skills with the ultimate goal of preparing students for the workforce or to allow one to continue studies in one of the undergraduate or graduate programs at Niagara College.
