The ESL programs are called English Language Learning (ELL). Students are divided up into three groups: Level 1- beginners and lower intermediates; Level 2/3- upper intermediates and advance, and Level 4 transitional.
All ELL students in Level 1 take ELL Science, ELL Socials Studies, ELL Literature, and ELL Writing, plus an additional four courses at students' grade level: Math, P.E. and 2 electives
(Art, Music, Technical Studies, Home Economics, Computer Studies; or Drama).

English is the primary language of instruction at VCC. All applicants are required to demonstrate the appropriate level of English language proficiency to function successfully in an English-speaking classroom.
English entrance requirements vary by program. CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Test), Cambridge Assessment, Duolingo English Test, IELTS Academic and TOEFL iBT are accepted as external test options
for meeting VCC's English entrance requirements.

English language competency before they're admitted.

LINC stands for Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada. The LINC program is one of the immigrant settlement services provided through the National Settlement Program.
It is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and is free to students. LINC provides basic and intermediate level ESL training for adult newcomers to Canada.
You can take LINC if you are a Permanent resident and 17 years or older.
